Historique :	Pendant d'un tableau classé le 30 septembre 1911 représentant saint Macaire montrant à la Vierge une vue panoramique de la ville portant son nom. L'église Saint-Sauveur de Saint-Macaire était à la fois église paroissiale et siège d'un important prieuré bénédictin, acquis à l'époque moderne par les Jésuites de Bordeaux.
